A secret passed down for millions of years
For millions of years, bees have used wax as a natural shield. To protect their honey, they perfected one of nature’s most effective antibacterial and antifungal barriers.
Long before plastic was invented, bakers already knew how to use this principle. Wrapping bread in waxed fabric is the traditional method for lasting freshness: a crisp crust and a soft crumb, without mold.

OUR STORY
How it all began
A simple observation — and the idea of finally storing bread the way it deserves: crusty, fresh, and natural.
A simple observation
It all started with a simple realization: even though bread is part of everyday life, it is surprisingly hard to store properly. Too often, it dries out by the next day or starts to mold within just a few days. Between food waste and frustration, one question stood out: why wasn’t there a solution truly made for bread?
Classic alternatives were put to the test — plastic bags, kitchen towels, bread boxes… but none of them really respected the bread. Either it lost its crust, or it turned soft. Finding the right balance seemed almost impossible.
Back to nature
The first direction became clear: go back to natural materials. The idea of using beeswax, known for its protective and breathable qualities, began to take shape. Paired with organic cotton, it could create the ideal environment for bread: not too dry, not too humid.
That is when the research and testing phase began. The first prototypes were created, each with its own limits. Adjust, test, start again. Finding the right balance between flexibility, breathability, and protection became almost an obsession.
The right balance
After many trials, the product finally found its balance. Bread stayed crusty longer, without drying out too quickly or developing mold. The idea became real: a bag made from organic cotton coated with beeswax — simple, durable, and effective.
The product was tested in everyday life and became part of a real routine. It was no longer just an idea, but a reliable solution designed to last and help reduce waste.
The launch of Nuvella
The project finally left the workshop and was shared with the world. What began as a simple everyday problem became a natural, accessible, and responsible solution.
A new way to store bread was born: more thoughtful, more sustainable, and finally truly effective.
